"Tegucigalpa" by Fruit Bats

Well, I think Andrew Bird's Noble Beast's eight month stint on the top of my Best Album of 2009 list has finally come to an end.  Enter Fruit Bats' The Ruminant Band.  Really great album, from beginning to end.  Thank you Stu for re-piqueing (Actual word?) my interest in the album, so that I might give it a second listen.

That being said, I will spend most of this week (My first week back!  HUZZAH!) posting songs from this wonderful album.

First up, Tegicigalpa.  Not quite my favorite song on the album, but close to the top.  Really interesting melody, and a rocking solo at the end.  Enjoy it.  (The album version doesn't have the weird talking at the beginning, like this YouTube video, and I have no idea why anyone would at it.  Oh well, the song is still good).

I posted a live version of the song, performed on KEXP, as well.  The band sounds really good live and I hope I get a chance to see them sometime this year.
